January 2012 - Toby is next slated to shoot the ABC TV 2-part telemovie Devil’s Dust, commencing the 7 week Sydney shoot in March 2012.


November 2011 - At the recent ACS NSW Cinematography Awards, Toby received an ACS Bronze Award for his work on the Southern Star produced TV series Spirited 2, in the category TV Drama, Telemovies and Mini-Series.

August 2011 - Toby wraps shooting on BEACONSFIELD, shot in Melbourne, in Tasmania, and deep underground in a real mine in the Victorian highlands. The shoot was an epic challenge to complete on a tight schedule and the telemovie will be a powerful and harrowing account of the trapped miner’s ordeal.


June 2011 - 33 POSTCARDS has it’s World Premiere to a full house at the Sydney Film Festival on June 9. It is to be widely released in China on something like 2000 screens on September 2.


June 2011 - After completing Spirited 2, Toby commences pre-production on the John Edwards / Southern Star 3 hr telemovie event Beaconsfield, about the trapped Tasmanian miners, their ordeal and heroic rescue. Directed by Glendyn Ivin it will be screened on the Nine Network.


February 2011 - Beneath Hill 60 is nominated for 8 Film Critics of Australia 2010 Awards (FCCA), including a nomination for Best Cinematography for Toby Oliver


January 2011 - Toby has commenced production on the John Edwards / Southern Star Productions drama series Spirited - Series 2, produced by Claudia Karvan and Jacqueline Perske. The 10-part 1 hour series is shooting over 14 weeks on RED MX cameras in Sydney.


December 2010 - Miracle In The Storm won the AFI Award for 'Best Cinematography in a Documentary' on Friday 10th December in Melbourne. It is Toby’s first AFI Award win after four nominations.
